Stainless Steel Tactile Bars – Directional Indicator Strips (Shanked, Ø35 mm × 280 mm)
These 316 grade stainless steel tactile paving bars are precision-machined directional indicators used to guide visually impaired pedestrians safely through public spaces. Installed in rows at right angles to the direction of travel, they form the corduroy tactile surface specified in BS 8300 / Part M for warning of potential hazards such as steps, crossings, and platform edges.
Each shanked tactile bar features three concealed fixing stems on the underside for secure bonding with epoxy resin. This drill-fix (mechanical) system ensures a robust installation suitable for concrete, stone, ceramic tile, bitumen, wood, or metal substrates in both internal and external environments.
The raised radius profile (5 mm high) and 35 mm width deliver excellent tactile feedback and slip resistance while maintaining a sleek architectural finish. Stainless steel tactile bars are often installed alongside tactile studs to complete a fully compliant tactile paving layout.
